Larissa got her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Colorado State University in 2010. She had a history of competing in team sports (mainly swimming and lacrosse), but it wasn’t until college that she discovered group fitness classes. She became a regular at kickboxing, BodyPump, hip hop, and Zumba. She also began running and training for half marathons, triathlons, and road bike races.
Post-graduation, she discovered barre and found it to be the best workout she had ever tried. She regularly participated in barre classes for two years before moving to Philadelphia for graduate school in 2012. She found herself missing barre classes- the toned muscles as well as the atmosphere of the studio with fellow students. After graduating from Drexel with an M.S. in Molecular Medicine, she found Barre Focus Fitness and instantly knew she had stumbled upon something great. In February of 2014, she began training to be an instructor, which was a long-time goal of hers. She is so excited to join a team of amazing women to teach upbeat and exhausting barre classes!
